General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
Deranged liver functions and ascites develop as the condition of the liver deteriorates. This is called Decompensated Liver Disease.
As liver cannot perform its function in the body, waste materials begin to accumulate in the body that affect other organs as well as vital areas of the body.
The patient suffering from DCLD should avoid
* Constipation
* High Protein Diet
* Alcohol Consumption

Apart from these, infections further tend to deteriorate the condition.

At this stage, Liver Transplant is suggested depending on multiple factors.

Wish him good health.
For more information please do post in HCM.
Regards.
